Alpha Chiropractic
Soft Tissue Techniques
Manual work on the muscle itself, used alongside adjustments to restore normal movement rather than just moving the joint.
Chapter 01
The five techniques used here
Soft tissue work at Alpha Chiropractic covers five specific approaches: manual muscle therapy, active release stretching, myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and trigger point therapy.
Each one works the muscle directly, by hand or with an instrument, rather than delivering the quick thrust used in an adjustment. Dr. Matt picks the method that fits what the muscle is actually doing.

Why it usually comes early
This kind of work is used more frequently in the early phases of treatment, alongside adjustments rather than instead of them, to help restore normal movement patterns.
A joint that has just been adjusted still sits inside muscle that has been compensating for it. Working that muscle early helps the correction hold rather than fighting against tight tissue around it.
Chapter 03
Adhesions and what breaks them up
Muscle adhesions are the bands of tissue that form when a muscle has been guarding or overworking, and they restrict how far and how freely it can move.
The adjustment addresses the joint. Soft tissue work addresses the muscle around it. Used together, one clears the mechanical block and the other clears the tissue that has been compensating for it.
